Arsenal vs Liverpool

Looking at this one as an excellent spot for Arsenal.

Liverpool are two wins, three draws and six defeats immediately after Champions League fixtures this season. Though they still have fourth place to play for the Reds will face a difficult task to prevent a letdown and pick themselves up enough to avoid defeat at Highbury.

The task becomes even more difficult as Arsenal need to hold on to second place not to mention a revenge angle in play due to the 2-1 loss at Anfield in November.

Any thoughts on this one?

it may also depend on how everton get on today. if they were to lose it gives more motivation to liverpool.

Mr Jones- I like this play quite a bit. As Honest Abe mentioned, the result of the Everton- Newcastle game would have an effect on this game. Everton won so Liverpool clearly will have to settle for fifth place or lower and no Champion's League for next season. With Liverpool coming off that emotional win over Chelsea midweek and their minds on the final with AC Milan on the 25th, I just don't think they'll have much left for this game.

Arsenal would like to sew up second place in this match and avenge an earlier loss this season at Liverpool. I thought the price would really steam up after Everton's victory earlier today, but it hasn't. I get the feeling it will as game time gets closer.
